After a very comfortable night at the Villa Lindell we took a slow start. We were the only guests, so we had the living room for us alone and started with a big breakfast. It was so nice to see the sun shining after our snowy tour the day before. So we were happy when we finally got our bicycles ready and could start cycling in this bright day. We planned to cycle further the Kattegattleden cycling path. This should led us around the Skälderviken, a bay with nice little fishing villages.
Is this tire flat again?
Our route led us through the Marina of Höganäs and on a small path along the coast further north. We passed beautiful tiny villages directly at the sea. In Nyhamnsläge we followed an endless seeming straight path which ended in Lerham. From there we had our first small climbing passage in the direction of the Skälderviken.
After one of the many photo stops Alina recognized that the tire she changed the day before again lost some air. We first tried to pump up the tire but had to admit a few kilometers later that Alina had a flat tire again. So we stopped at an busstop at Brunnby. Next chance for Alina to practice more 😉. Yesterday we checked the tire from the inside if there were any sharp things which can harm the tube, but we couldn’t find anything. By chance we found now on the outside a little broken glass which could not be seen and felt from the inside. So lessons learned – always check your tire from both sides! After the repair we could continue without any further problems.
Around the Skälderviken bay
After passing Arild we cycled a bit more inland and passed many small farms and vineyards. The beautiful rustical houses fit well in the partly wooded area. In Jonstorp we came closer to the coastline and stopped at the beach where you could see some Fossils. It was really tranquil and also not very windy. Sitting in the sun was already quite warm.
Afterwards we passed several small villages along the coast. Thus, we had over and over again a beautiful view to the sea. Finally, we arrived at Ängelholm. We stopped at an Sibylla fast food restaurant and had a nice meatless meal. Furthermore, we checked out the options for the night. The forecast said there would be minus temperature for the next two nights. So we decided to book a hostel and take a rest day for tomorrow.
Finishing in Vejbystrand
Our path led us through Ängelholm directly back to the coastline of the Skälderviken. We stopped at a beautiful beach where you could watch some Kite-Servers. But for us it was too cold to go bathing and we could not see any Swedes bathing there. The rest of the stage to our destination Vejbystrand was all along the coast and we always had a beautiful view to the sea.
The weather was still nice but from time to time we had some headwinds, so we got a little tired in the end. Finally, we arrived at our hostel. Also here we had everything we needed. This place was really stylish furnished with chandeliers, old majestic armchairs, and wallpapers with ornaments. After a short stop at the supermarket Alina made a delicious dinner and afterwards we could rest in our warm beds.
